Thief gets a taste of small town justice

In La Crosse, Washington a would be thief gets what he deserves. A resident of La Crosse, Larry Garrett thought he was being a good samaritan when he welcomed distraught young man into his home. The man told Larry a story that he ran out of gas, had no money, and was hungry. Larry gave the man gas money and offered him some food. The next thing he notices is that the thief had stolen his wallet and ran away.

The criminal runs into Larry’s cousin, Lowell Garrett who notices the commotion. As the man tried to get away in his car, the cousin Lowell wrestles the him to the ground as another neighbor came to aid and sat on him. They then hog tied the criminal with zip ties and left him in the middle of the street as they waited for the police to arrive. True neighborhood justice!

Stories like this shows the advantages of a tightly knit community. Knowing our neighbors and being actively involve in our communities can not only bring us together, but prevent and in fact combat crime.
